Railroad Trains for the Soul: Milwaukee District Commuter Trains
Here's another pre-Metra paint scheme on the EMD six-axle F40C diesel, which was originally built for the Northwest Suburban Mass Transit District. This featured the old Milwaukee Road logo because the locomotives were publicly funded to run on the Milwaukee District North and West Lines. Very colorful!

This is a terrific tribute to the Metra F40C locomotives from a high quality photo! The Milwaukee Road logo appears to be absent from these units shown, but the paint does look very clean as if they were fresh from EMD. I guess that logo wasn't added to the F40C's when they were first delivered. However, you can see a few minor variations such as the Nortran logo on the unique white and baby blue paint scheme. I really love seeing as-delivered paint schemes nonetheless, and this photo certainly has an example of it.
