200th Anniversary of the Town of Damascus, MD

Today is the annual Damascus Days celebration. This year is the town's 200th anniversary! For those of you who are not familiar with Damascus Days, it offers a parade and fireworks on a Friday evening and many other festivities on a Saturday every July. Other festivities include a small carnival at the Damascus Community Bank, a flea market, a visit to the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department, and a trolley ride all over town. As you may or may not know, my very favorite event occurring in the town I live in is the Damascus Train Day, which is held every November in the Damascus Public Library. However, this event was actually held during Damascus Days for only two years since I first lived in this town. In fact, I've already explained everything about Train Day in the "Damascus Train Day" page of the LaRosa's Trains website.
